2023 Best of Columbus Wedding Photography

BEST OF COLUMBUS WEDDINGS STYLED SHOOT AT the Pinnacle Golf Club

My heart is overjoyed to share that Starling Studio has won 2023 Best of Columbus Weddings for Photography for the third year in a row! Not to mention this is my mom’s second year of winning for the cake category with Lavender and Honey. This feels like a dream, to be honest. My gratitude for every person who voted and shared about the nomination is infinite.

When I saw who else won, I leaped with excitement knowing I was going to get to work with Aisle & Co.. We have worked in tandem for years, and it always feels good to celebrate with each other. The moodboard fit the surroundings of the Pinnacle Golf Club perfectly. The pops of crisp ivory and fresh greenery created a dreamy contrast against the venue’s warm brick.

Scattered throughout the scenes were vibrant powder blues, inspired by delftware and a clear sky.

Stationery designed by Ink & Ivory set the tone for the shoot. The envelopes were printed with whimsical florals, mimicking the details in the plateware.

One of my favorite parts of the whole shoot though was the couple.

Rachel and Alejandra are a real couple that has been in front of my camera many times. I love getting to reconnect with them and to share their love with the world especially this month as we celebrate Pride and support for the LGBTQ community.

Reliving their wedding day, Windi of Run to an Elopement , spoke sweet words, and invited Rachel and Alejandra to reenact their wedding day kiss. Both behind the brides and all down the aisle stood installations full of lush greenery and soft blooms by The Flowerman . The ivory roses complimented the ivory gown from Wendy’s Bridal and all-white pantsuit from Pursuit .

The cake area was stunning and very near to my heart.

I love sharing in these milestones and celebrating with my mama, who owns Lavender and Honey Wedding Cakes . The 3-tiered cake stood tall and was adorned with ranunculus, pops of blue hydrangeas, and other delicate foliage.

Each scene was beautiful and welcomed comfort, especially the lounge area brought in by Aiden & Grace . The Escape the Chateau set is one of my favorite collections with its natural wood tones and tufted details. It was the chef’s kiss to complete the shoot’s bright tones and soft textures. Altogether, the atmosphere looked and felt like a breath of fresh air.

I could talk endlessly about this shoot, the honor of this award, and every swoon-worthy detail. But I’ll cut myself short for the best part: inviting you into the day through photographs.
