Rooftop Wedding at Revery in Columbus, Ohio

Melanie + Kyle

Melanie and Kyle’s romantic and heartfelt wedding celebration at Revery was such an honor to be a part of. This couple has such a gift for making everyone around them feel loved and appreciated (including myself) and that gift seeped into every aspect of their day.

Upon my arrival at the Hilton Downtown the excitement for the day was palpable. Melanie, with the assistance of her mom and sister, slipped into her beautiful and versatile gown from BoChic Bridal that completely transformed once she added the lace overlay skirt and a flowing veil to complete her ceremony look.

Once we arrived at North 4th Corridor and took the elevator up to Revery we were greeted by the smell of fresh florals and greenery as we entered the light-filled rooftop venue. Madison House Designs created a captivating asymmetrical ceremony design with lush blooms that appeared to float effortlessly on their acrylic pedestals. The sprinkle of soft blues within the arrangements played off the cooler tones of the venue perfectly, as well as highlighted the bridesmaids’ dresses and city skyline in the distance.

Without a doubt my favorite part of the day was capturing Kyle’s reaction as he watched Melanie walk down the aisle arm and arm with her mom and step-dad. Scroll on down and see the moment I’m talking about– it was just the best. I also loved that Melanie included her late father in this monumental moment by honoring him with a bouquet charm with his photo, so he could still be part of walking his daughter down the aisle on her big day.

After M+K’s first kiss as husband and wife guests were invited out onto the terrace overlooking Columbus’ skyline where they enjoyed signature cocktails. Found throughout the reception were small tributes to the couple's beloved pups including the signature drinks and custom cake toppers. Following introductions M+K hit the dance floor for their first dance. The two took dance lessons from the lovely Svetlana at Columbus Dance Centre and it was so fun seeing the choreographed dance they learned during fun date nights leading up to the wedding come to life as their loved ones watched on.

It didn’t take long after dinner and toasts for Buckeye Entertainment’s Gene Hasegawa to have the dance floor full. The glowsticks came out and the city lights twinkled in the distance as M+K danced the night away.
