Please introduce everyone to Rosie!

Rosie is a 1948 3100 Chevy Pick Up Truck. She joined Orchard Lane Flowers in September of 2018. She's going to be our main girl for our pop up shops around Columbus. We had a short list of names we thought would be fun for a flower truck, but we really couldn't decide on one until we met her in person. Once I brought her home, we knew Rosie was the perfect fit!

What are you most excited about with adding Rosie to your business?

Our business model is a little different. We aren't a traditional flower shop, but more of a hybrid model. We offer some things a retail flower shop would like daily deliveries, funeral flowers, etc. along side our wedding and special event floral design services. In 2018 we decided to expand our weekend cooler clean out sales into pop up shops around the city. I realized that In order to reach more of Columbus, we needed a vehicle to make this happen.

What has surprised you the most about having Rosie?

Seeing the amount of joy that her presence brings people. Flowers always bring smiles to faces, but Rosie adds a whole other layer of happiness!

Now that we've all met Rosie, please introduce yourself! How did you get started in the business?

I'm Kasey Conyers! I've had the privilege to be the Owner & Creative Director of Orchard Lane Flowers since 2015. Orchard Lane Flowers was established in the mid 90's by my dear friends Al Gonzales & Jan Reese. Orchard Lane has been based in Clintonville for the majority of it's life, with a small stint downtown on Main Street. In addition to Orchard Lane, I'm also the Owner and Creative Director of Bliss Wedding & Event Design. I'm a Cleveland native who graduated in from The Ohio State University with a BS in Education. I spent time working for Walt Disney World Co in Orlando Florida, and the EXPRESS home office here in Columbus, before going out on my own to launch Bliss in 2006. My husband and I live in Victorian Village with our two amazing boys and a our rescue bulldog Duke.

What keeps you coming back day after day?

Our mission at Orchard Lane is to deliver joy and happiness everyday by sharing our floral designs with the community. Watching someone receive flowers and seeing them have that moment of joy is such a great feeling. The look on our client's faces and seeing their eyes light up when we present them with their bridal bouquet or revealing their finished reception or event space is something we live for. it's such a privilege to be a part of such an important day in their and their family's lives and we're thrilled to be entrusted and deliver on that responsibility.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

Creative. Driven. Adventurous.

How would you describe your style in business/ relationships with your clients?

I love the relationships I have with our clients. Our clients choose to work with me, because I'm able to create a unique event that isn't like every other Columbus Ohio wedding or event. We promise to create a creative, personalized, and stylish event. They trust my opinion and respect the job I'm doing for them. I remain friends with so many of our clients even after their events are over. I'm so humbled when they come back to other life milestones and seek my assistance with anniversaries, new babies and even funerals.

Where do you do your best work?

I'm fortunate enough to be able to work from many different locations as my work takes us all over. From working in my office at Orchard Lane, to the car at soccer practice, to our family beach house on Topsail Island. Thanks to technology, I'm able to work from anywhere. When we are designing and installing an event, I love a blank canvas where we can really make the space reflect the client's design goals.

What was one of your favorite weddings you worked on, and why?

There are so many favorites for so many reasons. Sometimes, I'm in love with the color palette we are working with, other times I'm in love with the tabletop designs we are using, and sometimes it's just everything all coming together the way it should.

What has surprised you the most about your business?

The trust my team places in me. I'm so fortunate to work with an amazing group of creatives who will always go the extra mile for our clients to ensure their order or event is the best it can be. I'm so grateful for each and every one of them who put so much faith in me even when my ideas are a little crazy.

What do you love to do when you're not working?

When I'm not working, you can find me at a spin or yoga class if I'm at home in Columbus. If I'm traveling (hopefully somewhere warm) you'll find me in an ocean swimming or scuba diving, or hunting for a yummy cappuccino in a cute Italian or Parisian cafe.

What do you love most about running your own business?

I love running by own business and creating the life I want for my family. Owning a small business isn't for the faint of heart but the risk is definitely worth the rewards!
