A Rose Petal Proposal at Franklin Park Conservatory

ALEXA AND CAMERON

Last night, the stars aligned for one of the most beautiful proposals I’ve had the pleasure of capturing! Cameron, who had been in touch with me for weeks, planned an unforgettable moment for his girlfriend, Alexa, at the Franklin Park Conservatory's stunning Community Garden.

After I made a few location recommendations, Cameron decided that the tree-lined path at the Community Garden would be the perfect spot. But he wasn’t stopping there—he wanted an added element of surprise. When he asked if I knew any florists who could bring even more beauty to the space, Prema Designs was the first name that came to mind. If anyone could make magic happen, it’s their incredibly talented team.

The Ultimate Proposal Setup

Together, Cameron and Prema Designs worked on a breathtaking setup. Cameron crafted an elaborate backstory, creating a fake invitation to a garden party for the Ohio State Ophthalmology residency class of 2028. The invite, which read "Come meet and mingle with your fellow residents and staff," had Alexa convinced she was headed to a formal event, with no idea what was about to happen. Dressed to impress in a sleek black dress and chunky heels, she looked radiant and ready for a night out—little did she know, the night was all about her.

As the rain clouds held off, everything came together beautifully. Prema Designs scattered an estimated 500 white roses along the path, creating a romantic, dreamlike setting for the proposal. The soft glow of the evening light filtering through the trees added to the magic, and when Cameron got down on one knee, Alexa was completely surprised.

After she said yes, we wandered through the garden capturing even more beautiful moments as the newly-engaged couple soaked in the joy of the moment. Their connection was palpable, and every shot was filled with emotion and love. The night didn’t end there—Cameron had arranged a special dinner to celebrate their dating anniversary and, of course, their new engagement.

Capturing this love story was an absolute honor. Congratulations, Cameron and Alexa, on the beginning of your next chapter together. Here’s to many more picture-perfect moments!

Where Their Story Began: From the Bride’s POV

So we met the summer of my sophomore year of college and his junior year, I think 2016, and we both took physics at this other smaller university in the summer because it was easier than our schools lol (went to different colleges) and I was extremely intimidated by him because he was so tall. I also went to this class knowing I wouldn’t know anyone and I was good with that, so when I saw him I knew who he was. We grew up in the same area and had mutual friends… I legit looked at the floor and he came and sat next to me and said hey let’s be lab partners! I was like “oh yea sure!!” Then we studied together for physics and talked as friends and stayed friends years later. Fast forward Covid hits and all there was to do was go on walks. Our parents live in the same neighborhood so I would go on walks and then he started coming on walks with me.

The rest is history.
