The 2021 Best of Columbus Wedding’s shoot was one to remember. It was such an honor to not only win the photography category, but to be able to celebrate alongside other amazing vendors in the industry and celebrate hard work and community.

This shoot was rich in deep blue hues, black acrylic, and pops of ivory and took place at the beautiful Hotel LeVeque. The table was a royal garden, surrounded with florals by The Flowerman. Amidst a sea of bold colors, white anemones and fluffy roses created a delicate contrast for the black acrylic chairs and place settings that were brought in by Aiden and Grace. To bring in light, black candles placed in gold holders lined the table leading down to the mercury lanterns of various shapes.

The entrée brought in by Cameron Mitchell made my mouth water as I was photographing the plates and the smells lingering all around. For dessert, a three-tiered cake by Capital City Cakes stood on top of an acrylic stand and was adorned with cascading florals and gemstone accents.

Natasha at Aisle and Co. coordinated the perfect place for the couple’s styled nuptials. The gold arched window and geometric chandelier paired perfectly with the black chairs and lush garlands of greenery that went from aisle to aisle. The groom said “I do” while rocking a two-toned suit from Pursuit Yourself and the bride, a dazzling gown from La Jeune Mariee, complete with a bow like cape draped down her back, covered in sequins. It was picturesque for the kiss they shared.

As always, Aiden and Grace never fails at making the perfect seating area. Their black velvet Kylie couch with vibrant navy pillows sat in between tall installations of florals and stems of pampas grass creating a feeling of luxury and comfort.

Each scene after this kept getting more exciting than the last thanks to the signature indoor fireworks and fun that Josh Staley Productions brought. It made everything feel like a real party, especially when the couple got their hands on the smoke canon!

Of course, as we went outside to end the day, we had to bring the smoke canon with us. The clouds of white and gold details of the hotel made each moment so regal. The couple popped off this backdrop and I loved the romantic environment it all came together to create.

I truly cannot find the perfect words to explain my excitement and thankfulness for being nominated and voted to win. It feels like a dream come true.
